The purpose of the debate is to discuss the key risks faced by the banking sector in Poland and to draft a map of the related challenges.
In view of the uncertainty arising from the not yet fully materialised economic effects of the “freezing” of the economy and the fiscal and monetary stimulations, the discussion in the debate aims primarily at analysing the threats to the stability of the banking system in Poland and at indicating the desirable directions of actions necessary for the banking sector to maintain its stability and ability to support the economy.
The debate will be attended by experts co-operating with the EFC, responsible for managing risks relevant to the systemically important banks in Poland on a day-to-day basis, as well as experts providing advisory services in risk management to the financial sector.
The experts will be asked to share their ideas on how the Polish banking sector could remain stable and retain its ability to support the economy weakened by the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
