Cybersecurity has become one of the critical areas of modern society and the economy. The biggest challenges for the financial sector will be related to, among others:
- preventing crimes committed against these institutions and their customers as criminals use increasingly sophisticated methods and technologies;
- implementing new legislation (DORA regulation and NIS2 directive);
- managing new technologies (artificial intelligence development and cloud operations).
Cybersecurity today is also a process that we should learn to look at from three sides: the IT security side, the regulatory side, and the organizational side. The ever-increasing number of cybersecurity threats and regulations is challenging both supervised entities, technology providers and advisors themselves, not only with respect to the need for digital resilience, but also regulatory compliance. Working together to develop a unified approach in this area is especially important today.
