Poland’s energy transition is one of the most important challenges facing our country in the coming years. The National Reconstruction Plan (NERP) provides significant funding to support this transformation, which is crucial to ensuring energy security, improving air quality and meeting climate commitments to the European Union.
During the debate, we will discuss what specifically the NIP funds will be used for in the context of the energy transition. Prominent among the main investment areas are:
- Development of RES (Renewable Energy Sources): Investments in wind farms, photovoltaic installations and the development of biogas plants. NIP funds are intended to support the construction and modernization of infrastructure to increase the share of RES in Poland’s energy mix.
- Modernization of power grids: Investments in smart grids that will enable better management of energy distribution and integration with RES, which will improve the stability and efficiency of the energy system.
- Energy storage: Development of energy storage technologies, such as batteries and other forms of energy storage, which are key to grid stability in the face of variable production from RES.
- Transformation of the heating sector: Modernization and decarbonization of district heating systems, including the development of RES-based district heating plants and the application of heat pump technology.
- Innovation and research: Support for research and development projects to develop and implement innovative energy technologies. The directions for the development of the Polish energy sector set out in the NIP are aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The debate will also discuss the challenges and barriers Poland faces in the energy transition and how planned investments can contribute to overcoming them.Experts and decision-makers invited to the debate will provide their perspectives on the strategic steps that need to be taken to make effective use of NIP funds and ensure the sustainable development of the energy sector in Poland. Together, we will consider how best to use the available funds to accelerate the energy transition and fully exploit the potential of renewable energy sources, while taking care of the economy and society.
We cordially invite you to participate in this key debate, which will provide an opportunity to exchange views, ideas and experiences on the future of the Polish energy sector in the context of the funds available from the National Recovery Plan.
