PFR Ventures and Inovo VC’s annual report ‘Transactions on the Polish VC market’ shows that the value of venture capital investments in Poland fell by 42 per cent in 2023 compared to 2022. In terms of the amount of funding, our market has regressed to 2020.

However, venture capital investment in Poland in 2023 is the largest in Central and Eastern Europe and accounts for a quarter of funding in the region.

Recently, the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański announced that an action plan for the development of the Polish private equity market is being developed.

What is the state of the Polish venture capital and private equity market, what challenges does it face? What is the role of the regulator and the government in breaking down the barriers to its development? Do Polish entrepreneurs find it difficult to obtain funding in the private market and do the requirements that funds impose on them discourage them from cooperating? How do the funds assess the preparedness of Polish entrepreneurs to cooperate with them?

The prospects for the industry’s development will be discussed by the participants of a panel organised by PAP Biznes entitled ‘Development strategy for the private equity and venture capital market in Poland’.
