Dr. Antara Haldar is a Professor at the University of Cambridge, where she holds the inaugural position in Empirical Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law, and convenes the law and economics and legal philosophy programs. She concurrently holds appointments at Cambridge’s Judge Business School, Faculty of Philosophy, Centre for Development Studies, and is a member of the Governing Body of its oldest college, Peterhouse. She is a Visiting Professor at Harvard’s Department of Psychology and held a prestigious Fellowship at Stanford’s Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences from 2020-23. Her award-winning research lies at the intersection of law, economics, philosophy and psychology and she has received over 3 million dollars in funding from the European Research Council, the Templeton Foundation, UK Research and Innovation, the Mozilla Foundation and the Indian Government. She writes a widely-read monthly syndicated column for Project Syndicate that is published in over 30 countries, and her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, WIRED Magazine, The Times Literary Supplement, The Independent and elsewhere. Her consultancy projects range from the United Nations to the Scottish Government to Silicon Valley start-ups, and her work has been cited by the World Bank, White House and others.
