Claudius Kirchhoff works as a Senior Banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with a focus on projects with Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs), including insurance. As an investment professional he has led transactions with financial institutions across the capital structure, including senior loans, structured finance instruments, equity investments and guarantee / risk sharing facilities. Most recently he has co-led EBRD’s efforts to establish a war risk insurance facility in Ukraine, which was launched in December 2024. Prior to joining EBRD, he has worked at the treasury department of the European Investment Bank (EIB). He holds a BSc from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and a master’s degree from ESCP Business School.
