Dariush Ghassemi, attorney at law, has been a Partner at Mazars in Germany for Financial Advisory since 2009.
Dariush studied law in Berlin. He was ad-mitted to the bar in 1994. Following his studies, he worked sixteen years in the group of Landesbank Berlin AG (for-merly Bankgesellschaft Berlin AG). At the banking group, he first headed the Group Legal Department and then the Group Development & Strategy / Restructuring Department. Also, he assumed the duty of a member of various supervisory boards of real estate companies within the banking group. Before leaving the banking group, Dariush was CFO / CRO of Berlin-Hannoversche Hy-pothekenbank AG.
Dariush was significantly involved in the successful restructuring and reorganization of the Landesbank Berlin Group, in accordance with the restructuring plan approved by the European Commission.
Before joining Mazars in 2009, Dariush joined a Munich based Private Equity Fund active in Financial Services as Partner in 2008.
In his capacity, Dariush is acting as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of a real estate trust based in Berlin.
Dariush’ practice focuses on advising banking and capital market-oriented projects, the restructuring and reorganization of banks, corporations and real estate assets, M&A transactions and financial structuring. Within this scope, Dariush advises banks, financial service providers, PE investors and companies in the real estate sector.
Furthermore, he has significant international experiences as Monitoring Trustee for the European Commission in the banking and industrial sector.
