bio

As the head of the representation in Poland of the EIB Group, the long-term lending arm of the EU, involved in promoting high-quality projects that support sustainable development, enhance security, promote competitiveness and innovations. A legal advisor by training, he has been associated with the banking sector for nearly 20 years and recognised by the Polish Bank Association (ZBP) for his role in advocating EU financial instruments in Poland.

The European Investment Bank (ElB) Group is built around eight core priorities to finance investments contributing to EU policy objectives by bolstering climate action, digitalisation and technological innovation, driving social and territorial cohesion, as well as strengthening security and defence in Europe. The EIB Group also includes the European Investment Fund (EIF), offering tailor-made financing for SMEs and startups. The Group signed 89 billion euros in new financing last year and targets 95 billion in new investment in 2025.

Poland was the fifth-biggest beneficiary of EIBG support with 5.7 billion euros of new financing singed last year. EIBG extended financing to accelerate modern development of cities and regions, drive climate projects, energy transition, and boost entrepreneurs.

Grzegorz has been with the EIB Group since 2014. Prior to taking on his current role, he was involved in financing operations including investment loans, securitisations, risk sharing and project finance transactions. His expertise spans e.g. public sector, corporates and operations with commercial banks.

A graduate of the Law Faculty of Warsaw University and International Trade Relations at Warsaw School of Economics, completed also a one-year scholarship at the Faculty of Law of Aarhus University.
